Growing Yourself Through Mindfulness, Art + Connection

I’m Heather Blankenship, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I work with children (ages 6-17) and adults who are experiencing difficult emotions, such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and loneliness.

In my practice, I focus on addressing trauma using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, art, and mindfulness to help clients learn tools to manage their emotions using healthy coping strategies and applying a different understanding to their thought patterns and thinking styles.

Art is a wonderful tool that can help us regulate our emotions and process our experiences. Practicing mindfulness techniques and understanding the benefits are essential for us to grow.

My goal as a therapist is to help each person I work with find healing and happiness through mindfulness, art, and connection. I believe we can all learn how to be kinder to ourselves and to feed the parts of us that need nurturing.

Experience

I’ve been working as a therapist for 14 years and opened my practice in 2021. I specialize in counseling children and adults for a variety of mental health-related issues. As a therapist, I have worked in schools, non-profit organizations, and government organizations.
